I liked how the ending left the fates of the three survivors to enter our world to have a new fresh start on their new lives. SO many theories on what this game and characters REALLY are, and I absolutely love the "Beautiful Lie" track and it's other variations. The "twist" of the game is rather deranged and twisted when you learn the details of it. because of what we learn near the end of the game and franchise itself. But the despair the characters experience at the final part of the game was and felt realistic. The Free Time events give enough time to properly engage folks, it is rather easy to determine what everyone likes and wants to hear, and the post-game makes it easy and enjoyable to catch up with people you may not have had time for right away. I felt like each person had at least one interesting topic of conversation, either related to themselves or their Ultimate ability. But in a way, it is nice to have this purely visual novel segment, complete with a more relationship-focused bent.įor people who really relish getting to know and understand the characters of Danganronpa, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony does a good job of giving every opportunity to get to know folks. On the other hand, you do need to get 10 hearts with a fellow student to get a good ending, which requires you to visit the Casino and spend Monocoins on tickets for dates. Even better, there is no resource management during these segments, like there were in Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc or Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony offers an opportunity to spend ten days just getting to know your fellow students. Of course, the post-game is again the best for people who love this element of the series. Like Kaito’s talk about the Voyager Golden Record or Tsumugi’s thoughts on cosplay. A little more challenge would be nice, but then some may take satisfaction in knowing it isn’t all that difficult to get close to these characters.

Gonta, who has shown his love of entomology, gets an insect trap. I mean, of course Angie would love something supernatural or otherworldly, like an Immortality Drink or Monkey’s Paw. I don’t know if it is just because I have become more accustomed to Danganronpa games or Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony does a better job of telegraphing characters’ personalities and peculiarities, but I feel like it is easier to ascertain the correct answers and gifts in this installment than ever before. Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is no different with its Free Time events and opportunities, Getting the chance to go on dates, earn Friendship Fragments, unlock skills, and generally better understand these folks is a big part of the appeal. After all, people have a tendency to die and disappear rather quickly. What helps make the Danganronpa series so special are the opportunities to get to know the characters.
